More information about Detroit Community Fridge
What is a Community Fridge? Community fridges are a mutual aid project that serve as 24/7 365 pantries for their surrounding neighborhood. They center sustainability and tackling the issues of food waste and food accessibility
Where are the Community Fridges in Detroit?
Currently there is one fridge at 10061 Gratiot Ave on the east side and we are putting one behind 6900 McGraw!
Who takes care of the Community Fridge?
Volunteers stock and clean the fridge on a daily basis. Anyone can drop off food (refrigerated, frozen, dry, or prepared) and take what they need. Prepared food needs to be clearly labelled with date and ingredients.
