TimeBank Transportation Service
Do you need transportation to get to medical appointments? We are partnering with Freedom House and Covenant Community Care to use the TimeBank and a new transportation software tool (developed by researchers at University of Michigan with design input from TimeBank members) to get our neighbors to medical appointments.
What is special about this transportation service?
- Drivers are TimeBank members interested in connecting with people in their community.
- There is no cost for this service, although drivers may need money for gas.
- Extra stops can be requested
- Someone can wait with you during your healthcare visit.
What is a TimeBank
- TimeBanks are a way for people to share services with each other using time instead of money.
- For example, if someone gives you a ride through the TimeBank they can use the time they earn to have someone repair a leaky faucet, get a home cooked meal, or learn how to sew.
- TimeBanks are based on the idea that everyone in our community has skills to offer and needs that we can meet.
